For us to claim this site has just launched would be stretching the truth. www.mikewalshpharmacy.com has a good five months under its belt and, truth be told, it’s PharmaWeb that’s just gotten around to launching…. Never the less, mikewalshpharmacy.com was our first born so we’ve spent quality time raising our baby.
The project started small as all the site was intended to be was a brochure site allowing Walsh’s Pharmacy’s customers to find their contact details and special offers online if they so desired. Lots of meetings followed with lots of “why don’t you…” conversations. We discovered the pain points of Mike’s business and came up with ways to address them online.
The result has been encouraging, the site’s traffic is increasing week on week, the feedback from customers has been impressive, the number of online beauty bookings has increased salon bookings by an average of 20% and the Text & Collect service already has close to 500 subscribers.
The site is backed up by some offline advertising, regular use of Twitter and Facebook, and they are about to trial a Google Adwords campaign. The marketing approach has been very much treated as a re-branding exercise for the shop positioning them as the “Local Chemist Online”. In a town with as many pharmacies as Fermoy, a competitive edge is key.
